DOSE: The number and timing of doses depend on age when the course begins: -Routine infant schedule: Three doses at 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 1 year of age. -Starting at 6–11 months: Two doses at least 2 months apart, followed by a booster during the second year of life, at least 2 months after the second dose. -Starting at 12–23 months: Two doses at least 2 months apart, followed by a booster 12–23 months after the second dose. -Starting at 2–10 years: Two doses at least 1 month apart. -Age 11 years and over: Two doses at least 1 month apart. -Over 50 years: Clinical data are limited, so an individual assessment is required. This vaccine can cause fever, paracetamol is advised. The fever peaks around 6 hours after vaccination, but is nearly always gone within 2 days. PROTECTION: Additional booster doses may be recommended for people who remain at increased risk. AVOID IF: You have previously had a serious allergic reaction to Bexsero or any of its ingredients, If you or your child take a complement-inhibiting medicine such as eculizumab; have an allergy to kanamycin; have a bleeding disorder; or if your child was born at or before 28 weeks of pregnancy, particularly if they experienced breathing difficulties. ​
