Ultrasound Guided Injections

We use ultrasound guidance for a variety of our injections, including joint and muscle injections.

Ultrasound-guided injections allow medication to be placed precisely where it is needed using real-time imaging, by visualising the joint, tendon or soft tissue during the procedure. This can improve accuracy and helps ensure the correct area is being treated.

During the procedure, a small amount of gel is applied to the skin and a handheld ultrasound probe is used to locate the area. A fine needle is then guided into position under ultrasound, and the medication is delivered to the intended site. The process is usually quick and well tolerated, with most patients experiencing only mild, brief discomfort.
