Hayfever Injection

99 British pounds

Service Description

Hayfever is an allergic reaction response by your immune system, to things such as pollen. Our Hayfever treatment involves an intramuscular administration of a mild corticosteroid in the upper leg or buttock, which works by temporarily suppressing the part of your immune system that causes allergies. The average length of action ranges between 1 to 3 months. In a third of people it lasts 1 month, in a third it lasts 2 months and in a third it lasts 3 months or longer.  To support patients who experience a shorter duration of relief, we offer a free top-up injection within 4 weeks if needed. Beyond this, a standard injection fee applies. It will not be suitable for you if you are under 18 years old, if you are pregnant/breastfeeding or planning to become pregnant within the next 6 months, or if you have any of the following conditions: a current infection that you are on antibiotics for, glaucoma, recent or upcoming surgery, diabetes, epilepsy, a recent heart attack, ocular herpes simplex, if you have a suppressed immune system or have a condition where a suppressed immune system may be undesirable e.g. tuberculosis or cancer chemotherapy. Any live vaccines should be given at least 4 weeks before or 12 weeks afterwards. If you would like more information or wish to check your suitability, please email us. This is priced at £99.
